Funeral services for Betty Underwood, 77, of Gainesville,FL formally of Pelham will be held Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 4:00PM at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home. Rev. Lynn Roberts will officiate and interment will be at Hartsfield Cemetery at a later date. Born May 6, 1949 in Louisville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Robert Monroe Johns and Montine Palmer Glenn. Mrs Underwood passed away Friday, September 4, 2026 peacefully with her daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter and sister by her side at Palm Gardens of Gainesville. She was a retired head teller at McIntosh State Bank. She was married to John C. Underwood who preceded her in death. Survivors include her son, Scott Underwood (Kim) of Ft. Meade, MD; daughter, Amanda Carter (Will) of Gainesville, Fl; grandchildren, Josie Boyd, Brock Underwood (Pam), Jake Underwood, Kyle Underwood, Curtis Hynes and Kale Hynes; a brother, Robert Johns (Rhonda) and sister, Wanda McFarland (Jeff). The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, September 13, 2026 from 2:00-4:00PM.
