Betty Christien Whitfield

Funeral services for Betty Christien Weikel Whitfield, 85, of Pelham will be held Sunday, August 17, 2025 at 3:00PM at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home. Rev. Donnie Wilkes and Rev. Teddy Williamson will officiate and interment will be in Mizpah Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kris Echols, Shawn Allen, Jesse Gibbs, Tim Newman, Jay Gibbs and Wade Shirk. Born October 21, 1939 in Gowan City, PA she was the daughter of the late Emory and Catherine Kieffer Weikel. Mrs. Whitfield passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. She was a retired Administrative Assistant with Springhill Plantation in Thomasville. She was married for 63 years to William (Bill) Cummings Whitfield of Pelham who survives. Other survivors include her daughters, Deborah Newman (Tim) of Register, GA; Cindy Whitfield (John Quattlebaum) of Pelham; grandchildren, Rachel Echols (Kris) of Thomasville; Cristina Allen (Shawn) of Ochlocknee; Emily Libby of Thomasville; Skylar Williams Gibbs (Jesse) and Catherine Wilkes; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul Weikel, Darvin Weikel, Raymond Weikel, sister, Nancy Simpson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00-3:00PM.
