Dakota Allen Starling, 16, of Valdosta passed away at his residence on Tuesday July 31. 2018.  He was born November 6, 2001 in Hahira, Georgia.  Dakota was very active in the East Brooks Fire Department, was a member of the Georgia State All Stars Bowling Team winning numerous state and local awards. He was also a member of the Jac's Juniors Bowling League, holding positions as President and State Representative for the Youth League.  He attended Brooks County High School and was a member of the FFA.  He worked with Jason Lawn Service and Longleaf Lawn Service. If you ever met Dakota you would never forget him as he loved people and people were drawn to him for his outgoing personality and caring attitude. He was loved by all. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Michael Wayne McClure, paternal grandparents William and Mary Starling and Aunt, Cindy Starling. He is survived by his Father, John Starling (Monica), sister Amber (Sean) Dailey, Brother Austin Robinson and grandparents Tom & Gloria Wright, all of Valdosta. Uncles Bud Starling, Aunt and Uncle Michelle and Lee Adkins, and cousins Nick Starling of Madison, FL, Matthew Blue, Paul Blue, Anna Feagle, Riley Weaver and niece Scarlett Dailey. His mother Melissa McClure Starling and friend (Rob), brother Dalton Hawke and Logan Barker, all of Valdosta.  Grandparents John and Diane Rogers, Valdosta. Uncles Michael S. (Jackie) McClure, Phoenix, AZ and Michael C. McClure of Black Mountain, NC. Cousins, Preston McClure, Phoenix AZ, Nydaia McClure, Chandler McClure, North Carolina. Viewing will be held Saturday, 10 A.M., August 4, 2018 at Redland Baptist Church with Service immediately following at the Church, 4888 Rocky Ford Road, Valdosta, Ga.  The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00AM until the service. The Rev. Jay Watkins will officiate and interment will be in New Hopeful Missionary Baptist Church at 586 NW Flowers Road, Madison, Fl 32340. Pallbearers will be Logan Barker, Dalton Hawke, Bud Starling, Nick Starling, Christopher Bennett and Dalton Rumph. Honorary Pallbearers will be the East Brooks Fire Department. His best friends were Madison Barrett, Adam Leonard, Christopher Bennett, Dalton Rumph and Chase Hughes and his many, many other friends and relatives. Memorial contributions may be made to East Brooks Fire Department and Jac's Jr. Bowling League.
