Funeral services for Don Lavoyd Sadler, 81, of Pelham will be held Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 2:00PM at New Home Freewill Baptist Church 125 Church Road Climax. Bro. Jimmy Hooks and Bro. S.E. Newberry will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Boak, Petey Austin, Kirk Sadler, Barney Hunter, James Hunter, Roger Hunter and Kenny McLendon. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gene Willis, Gary Treat and J.R. Donley. Born August 27, 1942 in Alabama he was the son of the late Barney and Bessie Lashley Sadler. Mr. Sadler passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024 at his residence. He was a member of New Home Freewill Baptist Church and owner of Don's Place. He was married for 62 years to Betty Jean Hall Sadler of Pelham who survives. Other survivors include his son, Terry Sadler (Tina); grandchildren, Katrina Sadler; Bobbie Sadler James (Trey); great grandchildren, Kyla Drinkwater, Kaiden Sadler, MJ Hill, Noah James, Jonah James; three sisters, Venette Austin, Sharon Crawford and Linda Golden; two sister-in-law, Judy Sadler and Joyce Sadler and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Anthony Sadler (Tony); brothers, Billy Gerald Sadler, Barney Ray Sadler, Ronnie Keith Sadler, brother-in-law, Pete Austin, Steven Crawford, Jimmy Hunter; and sister-in-law, Emma Lois (Buck) Sadler.
