Donna West

Donna Patrice West died on July 15, 2025 at the age of 65. She was born on January 11, 1960 in Moultrie, GA to the late Lawrence Edward West, Sr. and Janelle Palmer West. She was a 1978 graduate of Moultrie High School. Donna was the mother of Joshua Dylan Lewis and grandmother (“MawMaw”) to Joshua William Lewis. She was also sister to Lawrence, a daughter, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend to many. Donna was a hard worker who spent her life caring for others and tending to nature. She had her own sense of style, a sharp sense of humor, and wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. She was creative, outspoken, independent, and often the entertainer of the family with her storytelling and quick wit. She was a longtime member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Meigs, GA and lived her life rooted in Christian faith. She will be remembered in the ways that mattered to the people who knew and loved her. Survivors include her son, Joshua Lewis (Angel) of Hartsfield, GA; grandson, Joshua William Lewis; brother, Lawrence Edward West, Jr. (Renn) of Cairo, GA; nieces and nephew, Nicole West (Sarah) of Valdosta, GA, Meghan Coleman (Todd) of Valdosta, GA, Lawren Phillips (J.T.) of Whigham, GA, and Luke West (Kaylyn) of Climax, GA; a host of great-nieces and nephews; and special friend, Benjamin Daniel of Pelham, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Edward West, Sr. and Janelle Palmer West, and her sister, Jill Suzanne West. An informal memorial service will be held at 6:00pm on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at her residence. Those wishing to honor Donna may do so by making a donation to a charity of their choice.
