Funeral services for Douglas Gordon Palmer, Sr, 68, of Pelham, will be held Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Willis Jamerson Braswell Funeral Home.  Rev. Skeeter Weeks will officiate with interment to follow at Mizpah Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Jason Law, Daniel Dampier, Randy Walker, J. D. Palmer, Richard Willis and Kyle Collins.  Honorary pallbearer will be Ronald Palmer. Born Friday, November 8, 1957 in Annapolis, Maryland, he was the son of the late Green Barry Palmer, Jr. and Irene Francis Carr.  He passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at his home.  Mr. Palmer grew up in Pelham and was known by many.  He was self-employed and worked in various areas.  He is survived by his children, Douglas Palmer, Jr., Richard Willis, and Audrey Palmer (J.D.), numerous grandchildren, sisters Donna Longerbeam (Kearneysville, W.V.) and Cathleen Lanning (Odenton, MD).  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lewis Lanning (MD) and a grandson, Peter Frank Palmer.  The family will meet with family and friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
