  Funeral services for Edward Lee (Jimmy) Dixon, 68, of Pelham will be held at 2:00Pm Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 2:00PM at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home. The Rev. Ricky Pollock, Rev. Clint Brooks and Sheriff W.E. Bozeman will officiate and interment will be in Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Terry Hayes, Kevin Sellers, Robert Rumble, Mike Willis, Jimmy Sanders, and James(Bimbo) Burgess. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dylan Dixon, Neadom Palmer, Junior Willis, Ralph Burgess, Randy Willis, Christ Atkinson, Brian Brock, Junior Moye, Gene Willis and the Mitchell County Sheriff Department. He was a member of Cross Point Church. Born January 19, 1948 in Pelham he was the son of the late Joe Freeman and Bonnie Kate Butler Dixon. Mr. Dixon passed Sunday, December 25, 2016 at his residence. He was a deputy sheriff with the Mitchell County Sheriff Department and a member of the Georgia Sheriffs Association. He was married for 43 years to his wife Etoye Simpson of Pelham who survives. Other survivors include his son Travis Dixon of Pelham;  grandchildren, Hannah and Dylan Dixon of Cairo; sisters, Dorothy Byrd (Roger) of Meigs; Tiny Osborne (Ray) of Cairo and Jahaza Anderson (Ronnie) of Meigs; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Dixon, two brothers, Henry Lavon Dixon, Charles Joseph Dixon and a sister, Elouise Dixon. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 26, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 at the funeral home.
