Emmett D Bishop

Emmett D. Bishop, 92, of Pelham, passed away March 19, 2022 at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, March 21, 2022 at 4:00 PM at Southside Baptist Church, Camilla.  Rev. Neal Hager will officiate.  The family will meet with friends after the service.  Born August 18, 1929, he was the son of late John and Mary Boyett Bishop of Whigham. Mr. Bishop was a member of Southside Baptist Church and retired from many years of grocery and retail business with Suwannee Swifty Stores.  He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Marlene Bishop of Pelham and his granddaughter and husband, Christy and Matthew Shell of Orlando, FL.; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends Mary Willis, Randy Holton, John Wayne Sanders and James Pollock.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille W. Bishop; baby son Charles Bishop; his parents, John and Mary B. Bishop of Whigham, GA;, brother J. D. Bishop of Whigham, GA; sisters Mildred B. Johnson and Atha Lee B. Brown both of Cairo, GA, and Doris Trawick of Pensacola, FL; brothers J. D. Bishop and Roy W. Bishop. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 831 Cairo Road, Camilla, GA  31730.
