James Glenwood Anderson, Sr.

Funeral services for James Glenwood Anderson, 86, of Pelham will be held Monday, November 3, 2025 at 2:00PM at First Baptist Church of Pelham. Rev. Leroy Williams will officiate and internment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Glen Anderson, Kyle Brown, Chance Anderson, Blake Bennett, Levi Anderson and Will Tuggle. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Aldridge, Orbie Faircloth, Ronnie Morrell, Magnus Nixon, John Redmond and Farrell Warren. Born November 4, 1938 in Pelham, Mr. Anderson was the son of the late Rufus and Edna Anderson. He passed away Friday, November 1, 2025 at the Archbold Mitchell Hospital Inpatient Rehabilitation Center. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pelham. Mr. Anderson spent many years working in the auto parts business before becoming self-employed with various convenience stores, then in dry cleaning and storage unit businesses. He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Gloria Pollock Anderson; children, Jimmy Anderson (Suzanne), Hoyt Anderson and Holly Caraway (Chet); grandchildren Caroline Parr, Tess Shiver (Wade), Tyler Autry (Jim), Rebecca Whitfield (Whit), Glen Anderson, Kathryn Brown, Kyle Brown; great grandchildren Hazel Parr, Brid Parr, Reid Shiver, Tatum Shiver, Ward Shiver, Ty Autry, Andi Autry, and Enoch Autry; siblings, Marcus Anderson (Marlaina), Dawn Bennett, Connell Anderson (Donna) and Sabra Tuggle (William); in-laws Opal Wright (David), Janice Williamson and Charlotte White; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Church on Monday immediately prior to the service from 1:00-2:00PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Pelham.
