Helen Joyce Layton, 80, beloved Mother, Nana, Sister and Aunt, died peacefully July 29, 2026 at Archbold Memorial. Helen was born on May 17, 1946 to Louise and Riley Shelton in Thomasville, Georgia. Helen met the love of her life Mitchell of 40 years at Sunny Land Foods. They were married on June 19, 1975 in Thomas County Georgia. Together they attended Victory Baptist Church and were dedicated members for many years. Helen enjoyed selling Mary Kay and spending time traveling with her family, watching her grandkids and great grandkids grow up and celebrating all their achievements. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Mithcell Layton, her parents and siblings. She is survived by her children, Beth Sangster, Jimmy Sangster (Beverly) and Jamie Sangster (Angie), Stepchildren William Layton, Michael Layton and Christie Brooks her grandkids Shelli Gossett (Will), Frank Sangster (Linzi), Suzannah Heald (Andy), Bret Sangster, Tristan Weaver (Cody), Cody Sangster (Lynze), Jenna Sangster, Sophia Marlow and Dylan Marlow, Darian Reynolds, Deanna Such, Darlynn Brooks and numerous great grandkids. Services will be held Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 1PM at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home Chapel in Pelham, GA. Family will accept friends and family one hour before the service. There will be a private graveside service following. Rev. Keith Smith will officiate.
