Helen Willis Shiver

  Funeral services for Helen Willis Shiver, 78, of Pelham will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 11:00AM at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell. The Rev. James Cain will officiate and interment will be in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jonny Shiver, Noah Johnson, Tristin Shiver, Colby Shiver, Brandon Frisby and Brandon Long. Born August 12, 1939 in Meigs she was the daughter of the late Eulie Floyd Willis and Emogene Williamson. Mrs. Shiver passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017 at her residence. She was a retired bookkeeper with Moore and Porter Produce in Thomasville, She was the first certified police woman in Mitchell County and Body Guard for Former First Lady Rosaland Carter. She is survived by her sons, Rodney Shiver (Michelle) of Ochlocknee; C. Barry Shiver (Rhonda) of Thomasville; Jon Shiver (Theresa) of Camilla and a daughter, Mollie Johnson (Chad) of Cairo; 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and a brother, Joe Willis of Meigs. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Floyd Alan Shiver and two sisters, Francis Tuggle and Rosa Sellers.
