Ione Wilkes

Ione Nesmith Wilkes, 96, of Whigham passed away Monday, July 21, 2025 at Archbold Medical Center in Cairo.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 6:00 PM at The Bridge Community Church.  Jody Singletary will officiate. Born April 22,1929, in Woodland (Cairo), she was the daughter of the late Judson and Eula Butler Nesmith.  She was a member of Living Hope Church in Cairo and worked as a caretaker helping others.  She is survived by her daughters, Etoye Dixon and Melinda Singletary, grandchildren Don Trull, Jr., Shane Trull, Craig Singletary, Jody Singletary, Travis Dixon and many loved great grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, Janice Trull.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Donald Trull, daughter Elaine Simpson, grandson Timothy Dixon, and her sisters Annie Clyde Harvey Janet Godwin, and Lois Hurst, The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday, July 24 2025 from 5:00-6:00 PM at The Bridge Community Church.
