James (Pee-Wee) Shortes

Funeral services for James (Pee-Wee) Shortes, 83, of Pelham who passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018 will be Friday, October 19, 2018 at 12:00PM at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00AM until service time.The Rev. Nathan Fowler and Elder Edward Thomas will officiate and interment will be in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Roberson, Jamey Sanders, Eric Brock, Dewain Humphries, Johnny Cross and Earnest Johnson. Born February 16, 1935 in Big Spring, TX he was the son of the late Robert James and Myrtle Irene Robinson Shortes. He was a cattleman and Metal Building contractor. He was married to Betty Fowler Shortes who survives. Other survivors include his children, Shane Shortes, Tad Shortes, Wendy Ziel and Robin Shortes; his step-children, Tony Joiner, Connie Roberson, and Rusty Sanders; grandchildren, Madison Miller, Casey Phillips, Tara Sanders and Jamey Sanders; a brother, Dickie Shortes, four great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
