Funeral services for James Edward Singleton, Jr. also by his grandchildren as (DA), 79, of Pelham will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 2:00PM at Pelham First Baptist Church. The Rev. Matt Peek will officiate and interment will be at Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Born June 2, 1938 in Vada he was the son of the late James Edward Singleton, Sr. and Carrie Mae Reynolds Singleton. He was a retired salesman with Engineering Equipment Services Heating and Cooling. He was a member of Pelham First Baptist Church and a past deacon, lead Sunday School at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home for many years, Past President of Pelham Civitan Club, and the Mitchell County Geneological Society. Mr. Singleton passed away Friday, June 16, 2017 at his residence. He is survived by his Children, Carolyn Kennedy (Alan) of Tallahassee; Gary Singleton (Sandy) of Lake Mary, Fl; Valerie Kinder (Jeffrey) of Panama City, Fl; and Ginger Cook of Tallahassee, Fl; Grandchildren, David Cutchin, Bill Cutchin, Scott Kennedy, Heather Allender, Ashley Kennedy, Angela Singleton, Jeremy Singleton, Michael Cook and 13 Great Grandchildren. Other survivors include his sister, Rhonda Peek (Jackie); Aunt Thelma Glover (Troy) of Albany; an Uncle, Lester Singleton (Jewell) of Climax and a special friend Judy Sherrod of Pelham and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, an aunt Lorraine McDonald and his former wife, Sue Singleton. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 19, 2017 from 6:00-8:00PM at the funeral home.
