Janice Harpe Rackley

Janice Harpe Rackley, 87, of Pelham, GA passed away on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013 at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home. Born on February 4, 1926 in Pinehurst, GA to the late Horace J. and Mildred Eve Jones Harpe, she was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Pelham. She was also a member of the William T. Flynt #303 Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Rackley was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a star basketball player in high school and her hobbies included golf, fishing and bridge. First and foremost, her true love was her family. She is survived by her children Merrill Rackley and wife, Becky, of Dawsonville, GA, Gayle Strickland and husband, Wayne, of Nashville, GA, Jan McNeill and husband, Pat, of Ochlocknee, GA, grandchildren Quen Rackley, Dr. Blake Rackley, Rich Strickland, Dr. Eric Flynt, Taylor Strickland, Leanne Burthold, great grandchildren Jackson Rackley, Jon Michael Rackley, Kiersten Rackley, Sara Kate Flynt, Shephard Flynt, Greysen Strickland, Annalee Strickland, Wyatt Lee Burthold and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Roy C. Rackley, Jr., parents Horace J. and Mildred Eve Jones Harpe, and brother Harold Jones Harpe. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Jamerson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. graveside at Pinecrest Memory Gardens with Rev. David Pickering officiating. Pallbearers will be Blake Rackley, Taylor Strickland, Lee Flynt, Quen Rackley, Jackson Rackley and Cash Burthold.
