Funeral services for Jerald Douglas Avera, 72, of Georgetown, GA will be held Sunday, August 10, 2025 at 4:00PM at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dwight Dunn will officiate and interment will be in Harmony Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Holden Nall, Greg Solarek, Cody Tillis, Kiley Avera, Davis Avera and Silas Forrester. Born April 19, 1953 in Pelham, he was the son of the late Arlene Green Avera. Mr. Avera passed away Thursday, August 7, 2025 at his home in Georgetown. He was married to Faye Brazeale Avera for 44 years who survives. He was a member of Georgetown Methodist Church and retired from Proctor and Gamble after 31 years. Other suvivors include his daughter, Jennifer April Avera of Georgetown; stepdaughter, Leslie Cothran Solarek (Greg) of Panama City, Fl; granddaughters, Maryland Nall (Brandon) of Eufaula, AL; and Leeah Austin of Wicksburg, AL; grandsons, Holden Nall (Taylor) of Newton, GA; Palmer, Beau, and Beckett Solarek of Panama City, FL; many great grandkids and nieces and nephews, brothers, Jimmy Avera (Victoria) of Seymore, TN and Dave Avera (Terry) of Leesburg, GA; and sister, Susan Watson (Bruce) of NY. He was preceded in death by his mother, a son, Johnathan Dempsey Avera; Stepson, Jeremiah Clinton Cothran; and grandparents, John E. Green and Georgia Brewer Green. The family ask that Memorial donations go to Georgetown Methodist Church 101 Corsica Place Georgetown, GA 39854.
