Joan Howell

Funeral services for Laura Joan Howell, 70, of Camilla, will be held Friday, December 1, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Pelham.  Rev. Ed Green will officiate and interment will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home. Mrs. Howell passed away November 28, 2017 at her residence.  Born August 27, 1947, in Dougherty County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Preston Demott and Bonnie Nell Bentley Demott.  Mrs. Howell was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and an accountant with the Dougherty County Commission.  She is survived by her husband, Malcolm Howell, Sr, a son, Keith Butler of Douglas, , Malcom (Chester)  Howell, Jr., of Camilla, and Crystal Smith of Pelham; brothers Marvin Dale Demott of Hartsfield and Tommy Demott of Camilla and Bonnell Bentley of Hartsfield; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Lyle Gandy. Pallbearers will be Leon Ethridge, Buddy Edwards, John Bass, Stanley Bass, Steve Bass, and Terry Roberts.
