Joseph Larry Dempsey

Joseph Larry Dempsey, 79, of Camilla, passed away Friday, March 27, 2026 at Archbold Living - Pelham (formerly Pelham Parkway Nursing Home).  Born December 6, 1946 in Dalton, GA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Johnnie Freeman Dempsey.  He was a retired airline pilot with Atlanta Southeast Airlines.  Mr. Dempsey was a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam war and trained others to fly helicopters.  Mr. Dempsey was a member of the First Methodist Church, Dalton GA.  He is survived by his finance, Karen Edwards, of Camilla.  No formal service will be held locally.  He chose to be cremated and his remains will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
