Kevin Ridgeway

Kevin Phillip Ridgeway, age 69, passed away peacefully at his residence on August 11, 2025. Homegoing services will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 11:00AM at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home Chapel. Jimmy Battle and Frederick Davis will officiate and interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Reggie Ausby, Elwood Thomas, Robert Irvin, Eric Threatts, Jr. Tarveny Warren and Kevin Ridgeway. Kevin leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Evelyn Ridgeway; his children, Tarveny "Tiffany" Warren, Kevin “Tora” Ridgeway, and Amber “Joby” Crawford; his stepson, Andre “Tammy” McIntyre. He is also survived by his siblings, Peter Wakefield and Willa Dean Jordan, along with a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Special nieces and nephews, Gary Jordan, Regina Julian, Edith Monteiro, Marvin Carter, Julia Johnson, Lisa Wakefield, and Daryl Wakefield. and friends who were like family. Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Wakefield; his sisters, Roena Wakefield, Doris Ware and Louise Gurley. Niece and nephew Tammy Davis and Stephen Davis, Sister-in-laws, Janice Baylom (Arthur) of Pelham; Merrie Mitchell (Johnny) of Albany and Robert Lamons (Dee) of Derridden, LA,  A proud retiree of Oil-Dri in Ochlocknee, GA, Kevin was a familiar and beloved figure in the community, affectionately known to many as “Cuzzo.” He loved the Lord deeply and found joy in the simple pleasures of life, fishing, barbecuing, listening to music, riding his golf cart, and making his famous boiled peanuts that everyone looked forward to. Kevin will be remembered for his big heart, his laughter, and the love he poured into his family, friends, and community. His legacy of faith, kindness, and joy will continue to live on in the lives he touched. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 22, 2025 from 5:00-7:00PM.
