Marceline Drawdy

Marceline Alligood Drawdy, 90, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Meigs Baptist Church where she was a lifelong member.  Interment will be held after the service at Meigs Sunset Cemetery.  Rev. Stacy West and Rev. James Miller will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Roy Alligood, Ronald Alligood, Jeffrey Drawdy, John Redmond, Jim Barrett and Nelson Aldridge.  Honorary pallbearers are the Deacons of Meigs Baptist Church.  Born May 9,1933 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Ervin Walter and Lucille McCracken Alligood. She was married to Thomas Edward Drawdy who preceded her in death. She enjoyed being with her family and friends, cooking chicken and dumplings, and was the prior Chairman for the Thomasville Garden Club and retired from Darwood Manufacturing Company.  Mrs. Drawdy is survived by her three sons, Thomas LaDon Drawdy, Rodney Edward Drawdy (Tammy) and Michael Allen Drawdy (Heidy), seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Lynelle Drawdy Alligood. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Roy Mac Alligood. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Meigs Baptist Church.
