Mr. John Lee Hand

Funeral services for John Lee Hand, 99, of Thomasville formally of Meigs and Coolidge will be held at 3:00PM Thursday August 20, 2015 at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home. The Rev. Billy Smith will officiate and interment will be in Meigs Sunset Cemetery. Mr. Hand passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Camellia Gardens of Life Care in Thomasville. Born April 27, 1916 he was the son of the late Harmon Bartow Hand and Nancy Elizabeth Marchant Hand. He was married to Alice Merchant Hand who preceded him in death. He was a kiln operator for Waverly and attended Meigs Church of God. He is survived by his daughters, Bonnie Rose Hand Walker of Meigs; Shirley Hand Reaves, Betty Hand Cooper (Eddie) and Dale Hand Herndon (Jeff) all of Pelham and a son, Roy Lee Hand of Pelham, 14 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren and 13 Great Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Alice Merchant Hand, second, Evelyn Owens, two brothers Emanuel Lewis, Otto Hand and three sisters, Elizabeth Atkinson, Olif Gilbreath and Ira Byrd. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from 6:00-8:00PM at the funeral home.
