Ray Lamon Morrell

Funeral services for Mr. Ray Lamon Morrell, 84, of Pelham will be held Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 3:00PM at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home. Mr. Morrell passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014 at his residence. The Rev Doug Hall will officiate and interment will be in Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Born September 14, 1930 in Cairo, Georgia he was the son of the late Dennis Ray Morrell and Lois Agnes Bass Morrell. Mr. Morrell was a farmer and a member of the VA and Legion Hall. He was also a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. He was married to Eunice Hooks Morrell who survives. Survivors include daughters, Nancy Pollock (Howard Deceased), Rose Godwin (Teddy), Sandra Goodson (Dean) and Mona Loyd (John), 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, and a sister and brother-in-law, June Edwards (Jerry). He was preceded in death by his father and mother, sisters, Margaret Catrett, Barbrie Horne and Gloria Spires, a brother, Hildon Morrell and a son-in-law, Howard Pollock. Active Pallbearers will be Teddy Godwin, Dean Goodson, John Loyd, Jody Pollock, Aaron Fowler, Russ Godwin and John Ivey Loyd. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jonathan Ray, Nathan Ray, Jeff Carroll, Chris Bruemmer, Jon Ray and Travis Waldrep. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6-8PM.
