Sally Virginia Bowen

Sally Tennyson Bowen, 66, of Valdosta, formerly of Pelham, passed away at her home on September 23, 2020.  Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 11:00 AM at  Pinecrest Memory Gardens in Pelham with Rev. David Pickering and Lee Tennyson officiating. The daughter of the late Donohue and Evelyn Brooks Tennyson, she was born on February 24, 1954 in Mitchell County.  She was a member of Pelham First Baptist Church and worked with Comfort Keepers in Valdosta helping those in need.  Ms. Bowen is survived by her son, Ford Bowen (Melanie) of Valdosta; daughter Lezlie Elliott (William “T J”) and one grandson, Jackson Elliott, of Savannah; and a brother Don Tennyson of Virginia.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James Tennyson.  The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the cemetery, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lamp in Valdosta, either online at www.lampinc.org or by mail to P. O. Box 3502, Valdosta, GA  31604.  Services will be live streamed on Willis Jamerson Braswell Funeral Home facebook page.
