Sarah Kathleen Hancock

Funeral services for Sarah Kathleen Hancock, 90, of Thomasville will be Friday, January 26, 2018 at 2:00PM at Meigs Baptist Church where she was a member for 58 years. The Rev. Franklin Russ and Rev. Eric Newman will officiate and interment will be in Rose Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Ben Hancock, Kerry Hancock, Henry Collier, Alan Rackley, Mark Rackley and Joshua Hancock. Honorary pallbearers will be Meigs Baptist Church deacons. Born September 21, 1927 to the late Louie Hobson Hicks and Mattie Rollins Heath and step-mother, Wilma Hicks. Mrs. Hancock went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. She was known by her friends as Kathleen. She married the late William Leland Hancock on May 23, 1945 and was married almost 50 years before he passed away. She is survived by her son, William Darrell Hancock(Charlene) of Meigs; daughter, Janice Collier of Thomasville; grandsons, Kerry Hancock(Leslie), Ben Hancock(Cereya), Coy Hancock, Henry Collier III, 7 great grandchildren, her half-sisters, Lynn McKnight(Rick) of Fredrick MD; Connie Key(Mike) of Ocala, Fl; half-brothers, Dennis Hicks(Tina) of Lawrenceville; Victor Hicks and Gary Hicks(Teresa) of Ochlocknee. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, step-mother, and a son-in-law, Henry Collier, and a granddaughter, Teresa Stevenson, a sister Peggy Martin and brother Louie Hicks, Jr. In Lieu of Flowers memorials can be made to Meigs Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the staff or Rose City Rehab for the care they have given her over the last three months.
