William (Bill) Cummings Whitfield

Funeral services for William (Bill) Cummings Whitfield, 89, of Pelham will be held Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 1:00PM at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home. Rev. Donnie Wilkes and Rev. Teddy Williamson will officiate and interment will be in Mizpah Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kris Echols, Jesse Gibbs, Dave Hunt, Wade Shirk, Shawn Allen and Tim Newman. Born December 17, 1936 in Lloyd, Fl he was the son of the late Mitchell Cummings and Mary Ozella Brock Whitfield. Mr. Whitfield passed away Monday, February 9, 2026 at his residence. He worked for Longleaf Plantation until his retirement and served in the United States Marines. He was married to Betty Christein Weikel Whitfield for 63 years, who preceded him in death. Survivors include his daughters, Deborah Newman (Tim) of Register, GA; Cindy Whitfield (John) of Pelham; grandchildren Rachael Echols (Kris) of Thomasville; Tina Allen (Shawn) of Ochlocknee; Emily Libby of Thomasville; Skylar Williams Gibbs (Jesse) of Thomasville and Catherine Wilkes of Pelham, 12 great grandchildren; brother Lee Roy Ouzts, Jr (Sunja) of Charlotte, NC, sister Jean Hayes (Charles) of Monticello, FL,and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 63 years, and sister, Ileane Willis. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12-1PM.
