Laura Imogene (Jean) Hayes, 92, of Meigs passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at her home. Due to the restrictions required at this time, there will be a private family only graveside was held at Midway Church Cemetery. Rev. Dennis Norman will officiate.  Born August 19, 1927 in Calhoun, Gordon County, GA, she was the daughter of late Guy Thomas Haralson and Edna Alice McClain Haralson. She was retired from Thomas County School System where she served as the Secretary of Garrison-Pilcher Elementary School. Mrs. Hayes was a member of Midway Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 73 years, J. B. Hayes; daughter Mary Hagan (Billy) of Cairo; son Allen Hayes (Judy) of Meigs; grandchildren Chris Hayes (Sandra) of Meigs, Michael Hayes (Bethany) of Thomasville, Lisa Lane (Jason) of Hoschton, GA, Vickie Ezell (Pete) of Cairo; great-grandchildren Tyler Dalton (Chelsey), Makayla Jamieson (Westley), Brynsley Hayes, Dylan Lane, Brady Lane, Ashley Ezell, Kaylee Ezell, Chris Hagan (Emily), Wyatt Kuhns, Morgan Kuhns, Logan Cox (Ashley); sister Betty Ford; brother Tommy Haralson; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, son David Hayes, granddaughter Amy Hagan, grandson Ken Hagan, brothers Lauderdale “Bubba” Haralson, Donald Haralson, and Dennis Haralson.
