Lenora Collins

On Friday, May 17, 2019, devoted wife, mother, grandmother,  and great-grandmother-to-be Lenora "Dickie" Carreen Bulloch Collins passed away at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital surounded by loved ones. Lenora, oldest daughter of Cyprian and Orine Bulloch, grew up on a farm in Ochlocknee and graduated from Cairo High in 1957. Lenora attended Marsh Business School and worked for several companies in Atlanta. Lenora married the love of her life and high school sweetheart Aubrey Collins April 23, 1960. Together they traveled the world with the United States Army while raising a family. She was a stay at home mom and prolific community volunteer. She later worked for Department of Defense and closed her long career at Special Operations, Fort McPherson, Georgia. Lenora loved scouting and instilled a sense of adventure and civic responsibility in her children. She loved to laugh, cause mischief, and never shied away from trying something new. Lenora is preceded in death by her daughter Mary Ann, parents Cyprian and Orine Bulloch, sisters Fay Brannon and Mary Ellen Thomas, and brother Franklin "Bud" Bulloch. Lenora is survived by her husband of 59 years Aubrey H. Collins, Jr., son Herschel and wife Louise, son Lonnie and wife Marcelle, daughter Eugenia,  grandchildren Aubrey IV, Ashley and husband Elijah, Harrison, Matthew, and soon-to-be great grandson Theodor Cain. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 22, 2019 at 4:00PM at Springhill Christian Church at 7242 Maddox Road Ochlocknee. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at the church from 2:30-4:00PM. The Rev. David Fincher and Leland Collins will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Aubrey Collins IV, Harrison Connor Collins, Matthew Collins, Elijah Reeves, Ronald Brannon and Paul Brannon. The family ask that everyone wear casual dress.
